Sri Lanka
has great potential for
enhancement of business and commercial ties, says the Foreign Minister
Bogollagama
Foreign Minister Rohitha
Bogollagama stated that Sri Lanka
is
the hub of the Asian Region and Kenya
is the hub of African region and that both the countries have a great
potential
to enhance their commercial and business ties and also develop their
economies.
This was conveyed during his visit to Nairobi
where he met with His Excellency Kalonzo Musyoka, Vice President of
Kenya, and Hon.
Moses Wetangula, the Kenyan Minister of Foreign Affairs.
At a meeting with Foreign
Minister Wetangula, he
stressed on the need to have closer bilateral relations between the two
countries and also thanked the Kenyan Foreign Minister for the
support received
from the African members at the Human Rights Council. Minister
Bogollagama also sought Kenya's
support
in the global agenda particularly for Sri Lanka
to host the Commonwealth Heads of
Government Meeting
2011.
Minister Wetangula
congratulated Sri Lanka
for
the victory over terrorism and appreciated the long diplomatic
relations that
existed between the two countries since the establishment of the Sri
Lanka
Mission in Nairobi in
1971.
Both Ministers agreed to establish a Kenyan Resident Mission in Sri Lanka
in the near future.
