Given the large number of UN and international organizations located in Vienna, the Mission also devotes a considerable portion of its work to multilateral affairs. Since the establishment of the Mission, it has actively participated in the deliberations of these international and UN organizations, representing the interests and views of Sri Lanka. This includes the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO), the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) among others. The Mission has also played a dynamic role in co-ordinating Technical Cooperation and Training Programmes and follow up action on the implementation of and reporting on Resolutions relating to these international and UN organizations, with the relevant authorities in Sri Lanka.
