Sri Lankan expatriates in Vienna have recently donated 49 wheel chairs to disabled children in Sri Lanka.
Sri Lankan community in association with this mission collected the fund for wheel chairs at an event held on 18th May 2010, in remembrance of those who sacrificed lives during the conflict.
The First Lady Madame Shiranthi Rajapaksa, at a ceremony held on 18th June 2010, at the President's House in Colombo handed over wheel chairs for young children disabled by the conflict in the north and eastern region read more...

Sri Lanka's New Minister of External Affairs
Professor G. L. Peiris, new Minister of External Affairs, was sworn in at the Presidential Secretariat on 23 April 2010. Minister Prof. G. L. Peiris will undertake his first assignment with President Mahinda Rajapakse when the Sri Lankan Delegation headed by the President leaves for Bhutan to take part in the 16th SAARC Summit and the Council of Ministers to be held from 27 - 29 April 2010.
